The secret of writing "get-you-in-the-gut" subject lines

Why?
Because many of his headlines would make for even better subject lines.
I say this because, when you read his sales letters, you will notice he wrote a lot of emotionally-charged and problem-oriented headlines, that “got” you in the gut, making it all but impossible to not at least open the envelope.
And, I’ve found they do the exact same for getting emails opened.
Take, for example, this hum-dinger:
“Do you close the bathroom door even when you’re the only one home?”
I doubt any of today’s internet goo-roos would even think to write that.
Yet, it was one of the biggest controls of his career.
He wrote lots and lots of controls like this.
