elBenbo vs the 8-figure course creator

Let me tell you a story.

Last Fall, an “Email Players” subscriber asked Yours Crotchety a question about an 8-figure course creator's video teaching about how to write email & sales copy. This course creator had, incidentally, once hired me to consult him on his email strategy. And the video in question talked about how, in this day and age with limited attention spans, you should ALWAYS start your email reminding people about what they care about and not just go into telling a story — no matter how amazing that story is. And my subscriber was curious if the 8-figure course creator was right, and if one should always start your email talking about the “end result” people will get in the email before actually telling the story.

I have two answers:

1. A short answer I gave my subscriber at the time

2. And a longer one that — along with the short answer — makes up the entire 21-pages of content in the upcoming September “Email Players” issue that can get my Hairy Horde thinking on a much deeper level than anyone they are likely to compete against not just with email… but with sales copy, and all-things marketing in general. Not to mention putting a lot more of the green stuff in their squealing piggy banks, with a lot more engaged readers, and a whole lot more fun to boot.

But that’s in the September issue.

For the here & now, I will just tease you with four movies.

Four movies I give as “homework” assignments in the September issue.

Four movies that have served as templates of sorts for many of my own highest selling emails… all of which were longer than usual, and did the exact opposite of what the 8-figure course creator teaches.

What are the four movies?

They are:

1. Death Proof
2. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
3. The Birds
4. Rear Window

Two Tarantinos and two Hitchcocks.

If you are planning to read the September issue, it would not hurt to get a head start on how to apply the info inside by watching those four movies — even if you’ve already seen them. And then, when the September issue arrives, tear it open, and read the issue for the full context on how to use those movies to write emails that can make you one smiling boy or ghoul.

However, the deadline to get the September issue is coming fast.

Once that deadline hits, it’ll be too late to get it.
