elBenbosaurus Rex gives “How to get started” advice to a fellow techno dinosaur

Earlier this year, a question adorned my inbox:

Ben,

I'm sold on the idea of building an online business based on email sales of a modified version of my professional services and maybe educational/advisory products as well.

I'm a baby boomer (I know. The worst of the American demographics.)

I don't know how to do anything with a computer beyond word documents, google and email.

I don't know even know how to escape my ignorance.

Do you have any solid advice on how to get out of the starting gate?

I'm not interested in afflilate stuff or MLM.

I just want to stay in my lane and avoid getting run over by AI.

The good news?

If tech dinosaur elBenbosaurus Rex can play this game he can. Here is my hot take on this for someone like him:

* Learn how to “persuade in print” (i.e., copywriting, email, etc)

* Find a piece of a market full of people who still have money you can “break off” and claim as your own

* Position yourself as a specialist to that part of the market to get customers

* When you sell ‘em something, sell those buyers something else

* Outsource everything you suck at doing and/or that isn’t directly bringing in the bacon

It's quite caveman simple.

But like anything worth doing, the angel is in the details. Thus, if this is something you want to get especially good at, and get a deeper knowledge of, you might check out my 10-Minute Workday program AWAI sells. There is no sales letter to send you to, just a waiting list. But, when you join that waiting list you will get via PDF called:

“The One Minute Business Plan”

It can get you started off right.

And, it can be used whether you decide to invest the considerable amount of money the program costs or not, either way.
