The biggest struggle to creating a persona people want to buy from

Came a question about creating a persona:

Hey Ben, wondering if you could point me to any of your resources to help me with an issue im struggling with.

I lost my business of 20 years due to the pandemic

And starting anew with an online presence.

Im struggling with the thought of my “persona” especially

In my youtube videos i want to shoot- im trying to find a balance. Between authority and showing (where im not telling or preaching to the listener). It seems from my experience people like a more conversational approach where they’re not being sold to or preached to but like to discover on their own, i feel this way personally too.

I dont know why im overthinking this, just don’t feel comfortable that people have the time to listen to pitchy stuff and need to find a way to communicate in a way thats both me yet conversationally interesting to the reader, listener

You have such a unique voice and i love the way you are able to polarize and be so comfortable being you... a great model

Just thought you may steer me to a book or two of yours or any resource that could help me with this so i can move ahead in a new life for me and my family

If you got this far, thank you so much for your time

All the best

A customer and fan

At the risk of sounding shamelessly & blatantly commercially biased:

I recommend reading the July “Email Players” issue.

No, it does not teach how to create a persona per se. But, if you follow it to the letter, and are not afraid to do what it instructs, you will almost certainly start to create a special kind of persona people can’t help but want to engage with. And, if you use it in conjunction with my email methods… buy from, too.

Writing the July issue was truly a labor of love.

And, I cannot wait to see how businesses start to use it.

That is, those who are subscribed in time to read it in the first place.

The deadline is just two short days from now.

After that, it’ll be too late.
