Advice to my own flesh & blood about copywriting

And, because of that, I would periodically babysit two of my cousins. And, because those cousins were unruly and liked to try my patience at every opportunity, I was forced (FORCED I tell you!) to use some rather unsavory tactics to not only get them to go to bed at the appointed time, but do it without giving me any flack or backtalk.
A tactic that turned out to be quite successful, too.
But that may also have psychologically damaged them a wee bit.
What was this evil tactic?
Well, they had this huge, stuffed, life-sized bear in their living room.
And, I told them if they did not go to bed, said bear would rip the flesh off their bones and devour them alive.
Ooh yeah, baby!
And yes, it worked like crazy.
In fact, one of said cousins recently contacted me about her interest in learning copywriting, and said:
“My favorite cousin who use to scare me all the time when babysitting. Can't say you didn't make me tough.”
Tough love is the only kind we dispense here in the dungeons of elBenbo's Keep.
Anyway, I was extremely glad to hear of her interest.
But I was not shocked that she quit early on, after seeing all the work I told her would be involved. And it’s a shame. Because if she’d followed my initial round of instructions on how to start getting good at direct response copywriting, she would have gone a lot farther than being stuck in her current corporate job appeasing idiots promoted one level above their competence in the marketing department.
