A fix for the swipe file addicts

Published: Sun, 05/31/20

Before I sign off and stop obnoxiously pitching the June “Email Players” issue as the deadline winds down, here’s a free fix for the swipe file addicts.

If you live in the U.S. at least.

What you do is this:

1. Get a PO Box and get on all the big direct mailer mailing lists.

If you don’t know how to do that, simply buy stuff that is sold via direct response and delivered physically (supplements, certain newsletters, etc). The bigger companies especially should start passing your name around and selling your info to all their direct mail competitors whose list you’ll also be on.

2. Sign up for the USPS informed delivery service

3. Check your email daily at the time it sends you snapshots of your mail

Doing that has helped build me quite digital swipe file of the front of magalogs and other direct response mail with great headlines, openers, envelope copy (often good for subject line inspiration), etc.

All sent right to your inbox.

Already digitized.

And for the freebie seekers obsessed with the word:

Free.

What’s not free, however, is the June “Email Players” issue.

It’s a power lesson in the mechanical writing side of copywriting, emails, and creating sales copy & other persuasive kinds of writing. It’s some of the most profitable info I’ve ever shared — and much of it I have never spoken about out loud to anyone, much less taught it anywhere.

I’m sending this puppy to the printer in a few.

After that, too late:
