Yours Crotchety's favorite morning reading

The February “Email Players” elBenbo’s Lair insert included a short bit about my morning reading routine I go through each day, while I await the water for my first righteous cup of tea to heat up.

One of the sites is called:

“Film Goblin”

I simply cannot get enough of this site.

And back in November there was an especially amusing article.

It was about Sacha Baron Cohen calling out the big social media companies, nattering on about whatever people like him natter on about when given a platform.

Which was the point of the article:

These Hollywood and other celebrities don’t have a voice people hear due to them being intellectually honest, educated about whatever cause-of-the-month they are virtue signaling about, or even able to speak coherently.

No, it’s because they are given a platform by the media.

That’s the ONLY reason you know what many of these people thinks. Thus, the power of having a media at your beck and call like they do. This is an advantage you, as a business, can have, too via going on podcasts & online summits, speaking at events, guest posting in other peoples’ platforms (blogs, books, groups, forums, etc), and the list goes on. There's even one way you can do it that can build an entire business for you in one foul swoop if you do it right (as one of my customers did a few years ago) that I talk about in the May "Email Players" issue on page 7. You don't even have to build anything yourself, if you do it right, and leap frog your way past much of the building process.

But what’s even more powerful than other peoples’ media… is YOUR media.

Yes, Kitten, media you either own and/or control.

As many as you can.

All as integrated with each other, working for and with each other, and stacked upon each other as possible. There is simply no need to "pivot" (officially the most overused word on the internet?) when you have control over multiple medias. If anything, people pivot to skirt around you and your business, and stay out of your way, with you sallying forth as you always have while everyone else freaks out about having to change.

This idea of stacking medias is what I write about in the May “Email Players” issue.

The opportunity to get it in time before the deadline is getting down to the wire.
