Warren Buffet and the naked goo-roos

Published: Mon, 03/30/20

Behold this very timely quote from Warren Buffet:

“Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.”

I mentioned this quote in my Quaranstream the other week, about how over the coming months we’ll start seeing us some naked goo-roos. Almost certainly those who have built their entire businesses 100% around social media.

In many cases, we’re already seeing a bit of this in action.

And the economic buckling has barely even begun!

Exhibit A:

Grant Cardone.

“Email Players” subscriber Fotis Chat comments:

“Cardone is always beating his chest about how successful he is. Yet be had to lay off almost 50% of his employees in a heartbeat. Somewhere on Twitter I read that this crisis will show peoples true colors. Folks relying on a boss are in for a rude awakening if the virus persists.”

Indeed…

Soon in the not too distant future, my business partner in Saas Crime Troy Broussard and I are going to be making some folks currently worried about marketing & business-building expenses, or having to do as such on a limited budget right now, very happy.

And this’ll go triple for “Email Players” subscribers and his best customers.

Stay tuned…

In the meantime, behold naked goo-roo Exhibit B:

“Email Players” subscriber Hannah Whitehouse told me about a highly charismatic & persuasive “digital mastery” business owner with a big following of people-pleasers stroking his ego who is now suspending all investment in marketing training, etc and cutting back on marketing, etc.

We shalt see how long that outfit lasts.

It’s rather astonishing how little people learn from history.

Anyone over 40 especially should know by now the economy works in cycles. And that unless we go into full Mad Max mode, commerce will continue, markets will still need serving, and those who most aggressively market smart will almost certainly be taking extreme levels of market share very rapidly.

It ain’t the timid that win this game.

And it sure as hades ain’t the naked goo-roos who’ve spent the last 10 years living launch-to-launch, leveraging themselves to the hilt in debt traveling to far off lands for that almighty virtue signal selfie, all while pounding their chests about their lifestyles on Flakebook.

More predictions:

Legitimately skilled freelancers, coaches, consultants, and services who market hard & aggressively over the coming months are especially going to thrive like never before. Even more so than info publishers, probably. While you got people prancing around saying to send one email per week, smart marketers will be doubling down. Not just temporarily though, like we are seeing now from businesses who haven't mailed in several years suddenly declaring they are going to lead their lists through the virus crisis.

I am talking about businesses who keep at it over the long term.

Day in, and day out.

Whether they are inspired or not, want to or not, or “feel” like it or not.

That’s where my “Email Players” methods shine.

If you work it, it takes a lot of the sting out of the process.

This also goes for info publishers, solo entrepreneurs, eCommerce merchants, and anyone else who has a business with a list of people and an offer that list wants.

Whatever the case, always remember this:

Men & women lie.

Governments & politicians lie.

And Lord knows marketers & pitchmen lie.

But that tide going out?

It shows nothing but the buck naked truth…

All right, on to the business:

The deadline to get the April “Email Players” issue is tomorrow.

It’s my info publishing business model adapted to coaches, freelance copywriters, consultants, and other service businesses. If you are an info-publisher it can easily be re-adapted to info-publishing. If you are one of these wandering freelance copywriters or coaches always one client away from worrying about money, it can help you change that. If you are one of these goo-roos who is scared to death people might find out you aren’t as great and heroic and "bad ass" as your Facebook friends think you are, you got bigger problems than I can solve, and you best move on.

Whatever the case, here’s the naked link:
