"The Secret Of My Success"
Published: Fri, 03/27/20
This is not an exhaustive list by any means.
But, I have always found them good for inspiration, ideas, and attitude tune-ups.
Here they be:
* Cinderella Man
* The Greatest Game Ever Played
* The Count Of Monte Cristo (2002 version with Jim Caviezel)
* Miracle
* Rudy
* Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
* The Secret Of My Success
This last one is especially useful for businesses, and for the business-side of things, especially right now. And the reason why is, there is a scene where Michael J Fox’s character (a 24-year old mailroom employee who scams his way into being an executive in a billion dollar corporation) is talking to all the other executives who are scared to death of a coming hostile corporate takeover.
They are ALL reacting like many businesses do during scary times:
Firing people, cutting costs vs investing more agressively, playing to not lose, giving up, etc.
Fox’s character’s response:
“All right. Look, the point is, we gotta be bold…We gotta build! We gotta expand! We gotta make this company so damn strong, Davenport won't be able to find anyone willing to give up Pemrose stock. It'll be too damn valuable. Then we'll buy his ass out!”
As unrealistic as the movie is in many ways, that scene alone is extremely valuable.
That is, if you aren't a timid shallow-thinker who can't think beyond the moment, always just reacting.
And, yes, assuming you act upon it with your own business.
How you do that is going to depend on you and your situation.
But if you are a coach, freelancer, consultant, or other service provider — or an info publisher like I am, who has a little bit of imagination and doesn’t need your hand held and a bouncing ball to follow when it comes to adapting info — the April “Email Players” issue can help you have a secret of your own success.
That is, if you subscribe by the coming deadline, at least.
After that, it’ll be too late.
Fortune curses the procrastinator.
