The almost end of the world financial survival plan

Last month, the founding father of online advertising and “Email Players” subscriber Ken McCarthy, who's one of about 3 people on the planet whose opinion I care to hear on the subject, sent me an email with his thoughts on dealing with any surprises that could very well erupt in the economy, or locally from natural disasters, etc, and how to prep for it.

It was extremely practical and simple advice.

I don't know when I'm going to get to my financial "end of the world" scenario.

But two things...

1. It's nice to have a second place well outside whatever potential disaster zone your home base is subject to.

I have a New Orleans friend who had a back up office and home in Nashville.

In 2005, they got in the car, pulled into Nashville, flipped the switch and continued life without missing a beat.

2. Cash - as in bank notes - on hand.

Many month's worth in well hidden boxes you can grab and go.

Digital money is not all it's cracked up to be and it will be a LONG time before anyone says "no" to a payment in real US dollars.

Amusing thought I had on digital currency the other day:
