Prophecy about the future of email

“Ben what will you do when/if email is taken away?”
I used to tease my answer to this on my old podcast.
But, in my entirely biased opinion… I don’t think email is going to “go away” — either anytime soon or in the future. Every single “DEATH OF EMAIL!!!” prophecy has had about as much basis in reality as a CNN talking head prediction.
But, I do think it will change.
And be a bit less effective in some ways, while far more effective in others.
One way it will no-doubt be more effective is when it is used in conjunction with Apps, working in a perfect almost symbiotic manner — and especially when done along with text message marketing. With all 3 feeding into each other, enhancing each other, and strengthening the power, reach, and influence of each other in a way that effectively makes spam filters and other email-blocking shenanigans obsolete.
And this ain’t just a chest pounding social media prediction.
