Why the (not a) Church of elBenbo has no affiliate program

Before I get to the steak on this plate, some housekeeping:

Last week I was invited on a podcast show by “Email Players” subscriber Faith Sage, and she got to asking me about the possibility of there ever being another “Wine Villains” event I hosted with “Email Players” subscriber Troy Broussard back in Summer of 2017. That first event was in Napa, CA, at one of my favorite wine tasting rooms, and it sold out to room’s capacity in about 4 or 5 emails.

Apparently, it was quite a boon to Faith and some others, too.

She said she basically built her business from that event.

Whatever the case, I got to talking to Troy about it again last weekend and he’s gung-ho to do another one.

The idea:

The next one would be in San Diego.

Most likely the last week of March, and almost certainly at my favorite winery on Planet Earth which just happens to be in that area. The topic would be about how to build one of these elusive “lifestyle” businesses everyone on Facebook pretends to have, but doesn’t really. Or even if they think they do, it ain’t the blueberries and cottage cheese deal they pretend it is when making videos on their phones in their cars on the way to brunch.

Anyway, consider this email a “feeler” to gauge demand.

It’d probably be a couple hundred dollars to get in, give or take.

And if this is something you might want to attend, reply back and let me know. If there is enough preliminary demand from this announcement, we’ll start plotting it out.

If not, then we won’t…

All right, on with the show and real purpose of today’s email:

A couple weeks ago I was asked why I have no affiliate program.

The answer to that question turned into a near 20-minute advanced lesson — I learned partially from studying how the old Catholic Church grew so big — on how to get the maximum life time value (LTV) possible from as many of your customers as possible.

Here’s where to listen in:
