A secret way to build your list with webinars

Hey, just wanted to send you a note saying "thank you" for your help with stuff and your philosophy of doing your own independent thinking and how you can make your own tactics.
Case in point...
I just put together a webinar and every single "expert" out there told me to include a free gift and only give it away at the end of the webinar to make sure people stayed all the way through.
It kind of made sense, so I did it and made sales.
However, my primary goal with the webinar is to build my email list. So, I decided to go against the grain and offer the freebie at the beginning... right after someone registered.
The "experts" told me it was stupid... not to do it... that people would just give an email address for the gift and not attend the webinar. I did it anyway.
Webinar signups went up 30% and sales stayed approximately the same compared to when I offered the gift at the end of the webinar.
If I listened to the "experts", I wouldn't have accomplished my main goal of building my email list 30% more.
I'm glad I made my own tactics.

Ignoring ex-spurts is becoming quite the profitable sport.
One reason I like to say there really is no competition, is because so many people are not only not independent thinkers, but are demonstrably incapable — either out of laziness or they simply can’t do it — of thinking for themselves, making their own decisions, or even so much as attempting to think outside the box in even the most minuscule of ways. That’s why they are always seeking “swipes!”, why they are addicted to & are excited by checklists, and why they can’t help but consult their Facebook feed for free advice and insights, when Facebook is the last place on Earth anyone should be seeking advice about pouring water out of a boot much less making more sales.
Earl Nightingale had it right when he quoted:
“Men simply don’t think.”
Which is why, man or woman, just thinking can put you light years ahead of your so-called competition. Especially since, thinking is hard work. I hear tell the very act of deep, active thinking burns calories, if that tells you something. And people who live longer tend to be people who think more and keep their minds active, vs sitting on social media or watching TV all day.
Which brings me to the big wrap-up:
The December “Email Players” issue that goes to the printer in a few hours will do small thinkers — and especially people who find thinking hard — zero good whatsoever.
You MUST think to apply the info inside.
You must act on the info, too, and not just glance, nod, and file it away.
Yes, I’ve tried to make it as simple as possible.
But, even in the simplicity of what this issue reveals, thinking is required, and so is hard work. There are no dorky hacks, swipes, ninja tactics, or anything else inside that gives amateurs bouncing around the goo-roo casino the warm fuzzies. If you have no list, offer, or business, it will do you zero good. If your only knowledge of marketing comes from a so-called lifestyle or, worse, funnel coach on Facebook, it will do you no good. And, if you think you are "above" or "too good for" the boring, grinding, dry, work-intensive activities that actually build businesses, it will do you no good.
Same with anything else I sell.
Whatever the case, the December issue goes to the printer tomorrow.
