Burgle businessman invents new product junkie test
Published: Sat, 06/22/19
These are people literally addicted to buying new things.
This is a very real phenomenon.
And, one of the reasons I spend so much time trying to drive them away from even thinking about buying from me and going to haunt someone else instead is because I can’t help them. They will only waste their money with me. And, I find them and their lack of action-taking so contemptible, I want nothing to do with them.
Anyway, my Burgle pal owns a brick & mortar store.
And, apparently, he gets these types coming in, too.
And, he finds them just as contemptible and just as much a waste of time.
In fact, he has dealt with so many of them, he has what he described as The Garage Test. If you want to see if you or someone you know is a new product junkie, simply look at your garage.
Is it packed top to bottom with useless junk you bought but never use?
Stuff you bought, put away, then bought something else to replace it, only to store that too, and rinse and repeat — for years and sometimes even decades?
If so, then you are what’s known... as a new product junkie.
If that’s the case, don’t shoot the messenger, Gollum.
Simply be honest and realize the creature you are.
There’s no crime in it, and in fact many marketers count on you to be that way to feed their families, take vacations, and buy baby nice things. They no doubt appreciate your dedication to their cause, and will happily sell you all the new products you can stand, counting on you never to do anything with them, just to come back and buy the same thing from them again and again and again…
But guys like me?
I want nothing to do with you.
Save your money.
The only exception is, if you want to change your wicked ways.
Being a new product junkie doesn’t mean you have to stay that way.
The way to beat the addiction is to consume, use, and implement what you do buy.
So, so, so simple.
And so it is...
