How Bane deals with low class jackass clients

The movie “The Dark Knight Rises” has lots of interesting themes in it. One of my favorite is about power from the villain Bane. And, how it can apply to someone who is a freelancer of some kind.

Here’s what I mean:

There’s a scene where Daggett (businessman trying to screw over Bruce Wayne) tells Bane he’s in charge and Bane should be listening to him.

So what does Bane do?

He aggressively puts his hand on Daggett’s shoulder as he looms over him.

Dagget says:

“But we paid you…”

To which Bane replies:

“And you think this gives you power over me?”

Then proceeds to kill him.

Gotta hand it to Bane.

He sure knows how to get his point across, doesn’t he?

Anyway, the point:

Many a freelancer and other service provider often finds themselves in a position where just because some low class jackass paid them a lot of money, they are now expected to do more and more work well above and beyond what was agreed upon, or else they won’t get paid the rest of their fee, etc. i.e. the client thinks they have power over said freelancer. And then, the freelancer has to do extra work not agreed upon if they want to get paid.

Happens all the time.

But, it won’t happen to you.

At least, not if you tune into tomorrow’s “Ben Settle Show” podcast.
