That dorky checklist for getting engagement floating around Facebook

Published: Tue, 06/08/21

A few years ago, there was some silly checklist for getting engagement floating around Facebook, and maybe even other social media platforms, too.

I don’t remember all the specifics.

But I do remember it contained a bunch of phrases, questions, and tricks for getting people to respond and engage with you. A lot of it was irreverent questions that were about as engagement-worthy as asking about the weather or what your favorite color is or if you prefer Coke over Pepsi.

In fact, those may very well have been word-for-word questions on that list!

The best part:

How many people I knew who were using that list literally word-for-word.

And in almost every case, they were using it on the exact same “gene pool” and exact same cross sections of social media followers who were sharing those exact same lame engagement questions from that list to the exact same people who were already seeing them being asked on other peoples’ timelines & in other peoples’ groups.

All of it quite amusing to behold.

But also quite ironic, too.

And the reason why it was equal parts amusing and ironic is because it showcased just how lacking in personality and how utterly boring so many so-called “influencers” and marketers who should have known better are. Take away their lifestyle videos & other “flash & dash” and you aren’t left with much else. But what was especially amusing about it was, we had the opposite problem up in my elBenbo’s Lair FB group at the time.

In elBenbo’s Lair the engagement was always thick.

So thick I had to literally get away from it for days at a time.

Good problem to have.

Fact is, elBenbo’s Lair was always a nuclear bomb of engagement to the point where people were seeing more elBenbo’s Lair posts and comments popping up on their main Facebook timelines than anything else outside my group. And that’s one of the reasons why it got to the point where not only would some of its members be put in “Facebook jail” from the platform assuming they must be bots posting… but others would genuinely worry — and it was becoming a legitimate problem — about how often they were accidentally posting something on their main timelines thinking they were still safely in elBenbo’s Lair, saying things they would never let the real world see them say.

Where am I going with this?

Well, besides a bit of bragging, I have a point.

And that point is this:

Our new SocialLair platform — a social media platform designed by marketers and biz owners FOR marketers & biz owners — has certain aspects of what I did to get so much engagement “baked” in to it.

No, it won’t get engagement for you.

But, it can make getting it a whole helluva lot easier.

And it can make getting sales a whole helluva lot easier too.

If this is of interest to you, then here is how it works:

1. This week (until Friday June 11 at midnight EDT, or possibly earlier depending on demand) you can get a free test drive of it — after which free test drives will be closed for a while to “iron out” any lingering bugs & glitches, etc

2. Use it, fill it with content, even post ads inside & show it to your clients & colleagues if you want… and see if it “clicks” for you — with no credit card needed, and zero obligation

3. If you decide to subscribe during this test drive… you can have it for $35/month instead of the $50+/month it will cost in the future. Plus you will be “grandfathered” in for life at that price forever. (Barring any sudden rise in hard costs imposed on our systems due to 3rd party forces beyond our control — which is highly unlikely.)

Bottom line:

If’n you want to try it free, I highly recommend you do it today.

After multiple software launches I’ve seen how it ain’t like info products.

By that I mean, you don’t want thousands of people piling in right away. That only makes for a lot of frustrated & unhappy customers. It’s much better to grow slowly and roll out over time. Thus, the Friday deadline to get your free test drive may get abruptly shortened without warning. And, even people who get in for the test drive may not be able to buy for a while if you linger too long to make a decision once inside. And of course if that happens where we close it early due to demand… and you wait too long to buy it after taking your test drive, you will miss out on the above savings.

We shalt see how it goes.

Really, it all depends on the demand.

So this does not favor the procrastinator.
