Ben Settle banned by Amazon?

But it would not be too shocking if my Villains books and my Enoch Wars novels (currently being converted into audio books) were given the boot after reading a Daily Wire article reporting on how Amazon is banning books they deem offensive and as “hate speech.”
Goal posts on what that means, of course, will no doubt be moved as needed.
But the way I figure it, the grim reaper character in my “Hells Frankenstein” novel alone oughta do it.
Which is why I sent the article to my publisher Greg Perry.
To which he joked:

Crap.
Well, if they shut your books down, you're going to wish you had a mailing list of some kind.
... Heh heh
===
Which brings me to the point:
The utter foolishness of relying on ANY big tech platform & not building a list.
By all means use them while you can if it's profitable for you.
(I certainly do with Amazon.)
But to rely on any one of them 100% is playing Russian Roulette with your business.
It’s much better to control your own media platforms — all tied to an email list & direct mail list you can export & back up securely in multiple locations (so you truly “own” your data). Do that and the Amazon boogey man can’t hurt you. Neither can the Facebook, Twitter, and other "Creepy Line" companies, or any other big tech monstrosity converged with leadership & employees & users that want nothing more than to control your thoughts, police your actions, and cancel you on a whim — all based on an ever-changing range of criteria and goal-post moving that is truly astounding to observe.
Again, might as well use ‘em while you can.
Amazon is, after all, the best ‘search engine’ in the world for book sellers.
Which is why I still sell my low priced books there.
i.e., I don’t have to deal with the printing, mailing, razor thin margins, etc.
Later, if I am forced to sell them direct, they’ll be a whole helluva lot more pricey.

… Just thought you might be interested what your freaking horde is up to.
SO, after reading Part 1 of the Villain book (the short one from Amazon) and everything how to get rid of neediness, I decided to 1. start a screw U fund and 2. give myself a mission aka start building my own biz instead of relying on clients.
So last week I sat down for my evil plan to get my first 3 offers out within the next 3 months.
This week I dedicated the first hour of every glory morning to work on the sales letter of my first offer.
What can I say?
It feels GREAT and I’m happier and more satisfied than ever before.
Even if it means that I have to burn some midnight oil to catch up with client projects.
But basically I had to decide if I finally want to start my own business (the one that’s been in my head for years now) or start hunting down better clients for the rest of the year.
And I can tell u, if it wasn’t for you rambling on and on and on about how much better and wiser it is to build your own business, I’m sure I would’ve never made this choice.
So, thanks for that
