How to have appsolute power in your business

Once upon a time, I wrote an email about Bill O’Reilly.

And, how after he got ousted from Fox News, I doubt his multi-million dollar salary and job being “Thanos’d” made much of a dent in his lifestyle. And the reason why is because during his long career with Fox News he effectively inoculated himself from being de-platformed by owning and/or controlling several of his own media platforms independent of Fox News’s media platform.

(Which he wisely used to build HIS own platforms).

Anyway, reader Joe Mudd replied to that email with an other example of this.

Here is what he said:

Hello Ben - Another example you can talk about - Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame. They've used that show to grow and expand their empire. They started as struggling remodelling contractors with a pilot TV show. They leveraged the show to promote their Magnolia brand. The construction part of their business has grown to include bigger and better rehabs as well as new home construction developments. They have books, a monthly magazine, lotions and potions, a home goods store and a full line of home goods products sold in major retail chains around the country. They are even starting their own TV network - the Magnolia channel.

That’s the way to have absolute power in your business:

Stacking as many medias as possible.

One of which I believe should be mobile apps for practically every business nowadays. Mobile apps are opening a whole new world for businesses. That is, for those wise enough to use them. And, also, who can conquer their stubborn resistance to change.
