Fiction writing vs content writing
Published: Fri, 05/07/21
I was asked that on a podcast a while back.
We were discussing my fiction books.
And here was my answer:
I liken it to legs day vs arms day in the gym.
Training arms is a lot different on your body than training legs if you’re doing legs training right. Working out your lower body stresses different muscles than training your upper body does. In fact, training your legs properly can significantly make your upper body a whale of a lot stronger.
So it is with fiction.
The more fiction I write, the more engaging, interesting, and responsive my other content and sales writing is.
Personally, like training legs, I find fiction a lot more exhausting & time consuming.
I also find it a lot more rewarding, too.
It uses & “stresses” different parts of my brain than writing emails, sales copy, and other content does — including the heavily story-based content.
So that’s the difference in my experience.
Do with this info whatever suits you.
In the meantime:
I might as well use this time to shill the upcoming audio books being created for my Enoch Wars novels. The first one is close to being done. And will be up on Audible in the not too distant future, followed by the audio books for the other 6 books, plus the "Omega Edition" - which is all 7 novels plus a bonus 8th novel, appendices, etc.
And so it goes 'round here.
