Is “Social Lair” just a shameless money grab?

Published: Mon, 04/19/21

A concern troll chimes in:

“Ben, you constantly bash social media which is cool but now you have a book about social media strategy. Cmon man, it seems like a money grab. Stick to your principles and just don’t focus on social media at all. You’re getting flaky like a politician now.”

I’ve written about this probably at least a dozen times since November.

Including just 2 days ago with this exact subject line:

“The paradox of the social media hater who shills social media”

That email even addressed it in a way so even the laziest skimmer would see it:

In my last book “elBenbo Press” I proudly declared two things:

1. Social media is stupid

2. I’d never write a book on the subject

Yet, barely a month after it launched, I wrote a 400+ page book about social media (launching on Monday), and ”Email Players" subscriber Troy Broussard & I are gearing up to launch our own social media platform for businesses next month.

Strange days indeed…

Whatever the case:

I can’t say hearing from these “mOnEy gRaB!!!” concern trolls is entirely unexpected.

They ain’t exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer.

So I will officially make this as easy as I possibly can for anyone else reading this who is wondering the same thing as concern troll guy above, even though I’ve been writing about this social media book and the social media platform we’ll be launching in a couple weeks since at least November or December.

Here goes:

If you think it’s a mindless cash grab simply don’t buy it.

And that goes quadruple for our upcoming social media platform.

Very simple.

And I promise you nobody will care.

In fact, nobody will even know…

P.S. To be fair, the above concern troll isn't even in this one's league:

Ben. Come on, Ben...

Your brain just goes straight the money.

You need to take a page from Gary Vee.
Give your people value. $150? You could be more generous than that.

This launch is bringing out the crazies already.

I suspect Friday night leading towards the deadline'll be especially nutty as they start drinking...
