The secret list that can have clients salivating like vampires at a Red Cross clinic to hire you
Published: Sat, 05/22/21
There are both psychological and obvious practical reasons for doing this.
Psychologically, it tells would-be clients you’re high value.
That means higher fees, less interference, more faith in you, and a host of other benefits.
Plus, there’s a social proof thing going on, too:
Just like a lot of girls don’t want a guy no other girl wants (“… what’s wrong with him?”) a lot of clients don’t really want to hire someone nobody else wants to hire. On the other hand, the fact you’re so in demand, with clients competing for your time, then you are automatically more desirable.
And practically, it means more job security.
Think of it this way:
Let’s say you are booked solid with clients. The sun is shining, the pigeons are crowing, and you’re basically in copywriting hog heaven. Then, for whatever reason, one of your clients drops out. Maybe they went out of business. Or maybe they found someone they think is better.
Or, maybe they’re just flaky.
Or ran out of money.
Or any number of things.
Whatever the case, there’s no need to panic.
That is, if you have a waiting list of potential clients who you've built a relationship with via demonstrating your knowledge and abilities to via email over time like I teach.
Because, all you do is send an email to them that says something like:
“I have an opening for another client. But, it’s first come, first served. With over 45 potential clients opted in to this special list, that spot could very realistically vanish before the hour is through. Here’s how to contact me…”
Of course, it takes time to build a waiting list like this.
But, maybe not nearly as long as you think.
And, once you do, I think you’ll find a lot of financial uncertainty vanishing.
That’s where my “Email Client Horde” book on sale this weekend comes in.
It shows how to start building a freelance business like this with just one email per day.
Sale ends tomorrow Sunday, May 23 at midnight EST.
After this sale ends, the book is getting a long overdue price increase.
