Why I don’t cater to newbies
Published: Thu, 05/06/21
i.e., they aren’t my market
The reason:
With rare exception, newbies in my niche aren’t looking for — much less are even ready for — wisdom. No matter how much I or anyone else wishes otherwise, newbies by and large are into silly nonsense, quick fixes, instant gratification, so-called "hacks", and the idea they can get everything they want with as little effort as possible.
I ain’t just talking about Zoomers & Millennials, neither.
I see it in GenX, Boomers, and even older at times.
Most newbies I've dealt with have trouble focusing on one thing, sticking with it, and seeing anything through.
Yes, there are a few exceptions.
But for the most part, they want to shoot marbles whike drooling on the carpet of the goo-roo casino. And maybe they need to, to get it out of their systems.
I don’t really know or care.
Because I don’t cater to them.
More:
It's not unusual for the goo-roo casino-hopping newbie type to inevitably get screwed over by too many different businesses, get jaded, and start treating anyone wanting to sell to them like they are crooks.
And on and on the goo-roo casino goes.
24/hours per day, 7-days per week.
Thus, why I prefer selling to people with experience under their belts.
And other than my Villains books, none of my other books — and certainly not my “Email Players” newsletter — are written to or for those with no list, no offer, and no real business. Yet those types still foolishly subscribe without reading what they are buying, and then quit soon after, while nattering on about how they don’t have a business, should have listened when I told their dumb asses not to buy, but will be back when they have their shyt together.
But by then it's too late.
As they are banned on the spot.
My policy is clear on not letting these blue light specials with no ambition, or ability to problem-solve, or longterm thinking capabilities back after leaving.
It’s all a waste of time to deal with.
They’re all a waste of time to deal with.
And, catering to them to sell them would be an even bigger waste of time to deal with.
They are far better off haunting someone else anyway. There are, after all, plenty of thirsty marketers out there who do cater to newbies that'll welcome them with open arms who can probably really use the new business.
Win-Win for everyone.
All right, ‘nuff said.
Let’s get on to the business:
Like I mentioned, my Villains books are the exceptions.
I prefer newbies ONLY get those if they insist on buying something from me.
The reason:
They'll help “prep” them to think more wisely.
Spend money more wisely.
And hopefully make decisions more wisely.
