Sociopaths in the guru-hood

Many years ago when James Cameron was involved in the casting process for the first Terminator movie, one person who was briefly considered to play the killer cyborg was none other than… O.J. Simpson.
Yes, that O.J.
The one accused of murdering his wife & his wife’s friend.
Anyway, the reason O.J. was immediately rejected for the part:
Cameron felt the ex-football player was "too nice.”
And, also, that he wouldn’t be believable as a killing machine.
Believe it or not, this is extremely relevant to anyone in business. And the reason it is extremely relevant to anyone in business is because a lot of people would say O.J. is a bonafide sociopath. I will let the social media fanboys with nothing better to do with their time argue over if that's technically true or not. But a sociopath is someone either born with, or as a result of some kind of accident, zero ability to care about anyone else. They simply aren’t “wired” with a conscience. And, thus, one of the “marks” of a sociopath is you’ll never know said sociopath is a sociopath because they are masters at disguising the fact to the point you’d likely think the exact opposite of what they really are.
They are better at posing as regular humans than, well, regular humans.
In fact, the more you think "There's NO WAY that person would be a sociopath!" probably the better the chance that person is.
Which is why when someone gets fleeced by one they never see it coming.
Some more interesting facts about sociopaths:
Roughly 1 in 23 people you know is a sociopath according to psychologist & author of “The Sociopath Next Door” Martha Stout — who also served on the clinical faculty of the Harvard Medical School for over 25 years.
That means chances are you know at least a few.
Very likely even in your own circle of friends & colleagues.
Maybe even in your own family.
