“A homeless guy could pull this off”

Hey Ben,
Just wanted to share a small (and i mean small) success from following you and your teachings
And I'm not an EP subscriber yet, I've just read your 'Blue Chip Email Secrets' twice and listened to the Michael Senoff audio version five times.
And by the way, your free and inexpensive stuff is literally GOLD for beginners like me to get up to speed with direct-response and email copywriting. Your Ben Settle app, your podcast, your $2 kindle books lol...they all help. A homeless guy could pull this off haha!
So anyway, I ran an email launch for my cousin's ecom store. And just followed the basics that you teach
I grabbed my cousin and was like "hey let's try daily emails and then do an email launch"...and it worked!
The email list was tiny (just 100 people) but the email launch sold £1,130.10 in the 4 days, more than what the store made in the past 3 months
I know £1,130.10 aint a lot of money, but the fact that I've spent about £40 on your stuff, it's not a bad return.
And the funny thing is that my cousin argued with me about almost everything, I spent more time getting "approval" for the emails, the strategy and the copy etc.
I know this is probably the smallest testimonial you'll ever get, but it's shown me what can be done when you just "build a list and mail it" - the Ben Settle way - also got me thinking about the possibilities of working with bigger ecom stores. Cos I know a lot of them suck at email.
For now, I'll keep going through your white-belt level training until I'm ready to join EP, and I hope that's soon.

Small or big success, it’s all relative & it’s all good.
The fighting for approval part is especially interesting.
Back in my freelancing days, I sometimes spent more time & had to run a stronger sales job on the client just to test certain things than I did in the ads themselves.
Much easier nowadays.
The only "approval" required to run my copy & antics is my own...
Speaking of Jameel, something else to think about:
A couple months ago he sent me a testimonial about his adventures as a hardcore, belly-to-belly sales man who dealt with everything from rejection from ice cold leads on the street to literally cops being called on him during his sales calls. Anyway, his story intrigued me to the point where I immediately forwarded it to my business partner Troy Broussard in yet another software venture (high ticket mobile apps specifically for upper six & seven figure businesses) since we mostly use direct sales and not so much direct marketing to sell it.
Long story short:
Jameel's company is going to be selling it.
Moral of the story:
Sometimes there are as many - if not more - potential benefits for the testimonial giver than there is for the testimonial receiver...
