What Trump & Jobs knew about copywriting most never will
Published: Thu, 01/28/21
Back when Trump started running for president, and constantly said one outrageous thing after another to the point where even his biggest fanboys would cringe and declare, “oh no! he’s done now, I wish he’d just shut up!”
Only to witness his poll numbers rise.
His popularity rise.
And his voter base rise.
I remember having conversations with my dad about this at the time, and explaining to him exactly why Trump would “get away” with saying the most outrageous things, see his stump speech crowds overflow with every hot mic comment & locker room talk recording aired, and sail right into being nominated, without any real competition from his GOP competition whatsoever.
The secret he used?
I’ll just say this:
It’s the same “secret” Steve Jobs used to get away with saying things you’d think would get him either ostracized by society or punched in the face by his own employees.
I reveal this doozy on pages 8 & 9 in the February “Email Players” issue.
Speaking of Jobs:
On pages 3 & 4, I also talk about one of the things he did in his famous commencement speech to Stanford that makes it widely considered to be the most effective speech ever given, that you can apply to your sales copy to potentially get far more engagement & response — with leads “leaning in” to read your ads, watch your VSL’s, and listen to your podcasts, etc.
This February issue is chock-full of insights like this.
