The foolish ass & his driver
Published: Sat, 12/16/17
An Ass was being driven along a road leading down the mountain side, when he suddenly took it into his silly head to choose his own path. He could see his stall at the foot of the mountain, and to him the quickest way down seemed to be over the edge of the nearest cliff. Just as he was about to leap over, his master caught him by the tail and tried to pull him back, but the stubborn Ass would not yield and pulled with all his might.
"Very well," said his master, "go your way, you willful beast, and see where it leads you."
With that he let go.
And, the foolish Ass tumbled head over heels down the mountain side.
Ouch.
Reminds me of a story my kung fu Sifu told me.
He trained a guy for a few weeks (nobody learns Wing Chun in a few weeks), the willful beast of a student then insisted he wanted to go to Portland for a cage match and had “learned what he needed”, then proceeded to get his arse handed to him.
Sifu could have done more to stop him.
But, why should he?
The willful beast would have done it anyway.
And, pain is a good teacher.
Anyway, same applies to business.
Pick your teachers well.
But, when you pick them, slavishly follow their trainings until you’ve mastered the fundamentals before galloping off to the next bright shiny object. This applies to anything you want to learn in life (business or otherwise).
Don’t stray off the path.
And, whatever you do, don’t jump off the cliff.
Otherwise, a foolish Ass will you be…
This is why I’m so picky about who I allow to stay in “Email Players”.
Yes, sometimes a foolish Ass slips through.
But, when they do, and I catch them trying to jump down the cliff when I told them what to do, I let them go. And by that I mean, I unsubscribe them and tell them to get ye away. It’s why I spend so much time in the sales letter on talking about who should NOT subscribe.
No willful beasts or foolish asses allowed.
For everyone else?
See if you qualify here:
