Lifestyle cage match: elBenbo or Gary V

Once upon a time, someone called me the “anti-Gary V”.

Not in the sense of hating or anything like that, of course. Frankly, I know next to nothing about him — have never watched a single video of his or directly heard him teach anything. No, she said it in the sense I have the exact *opposite* approach to business.

For example:

* I don’t work a gazillion hours per week (more like an hour or two per week)

* I don’t do videos (I won’t rest until the Internet goes back to plain text)

* I don’t have a multi-million dollar media empire (although I suppose that does sound secksy…)

* I don’t have a goal of having a billion dollar company (I don't have the drive to, plus the tax and regulation and government interference and mainstream spotlight would be a nightmare to a bloke like myself)

* I don’t have several hundred employees (elBenbo is a one-man-band)

* I get as much sleep as I want (someone said Gary V told the Huffington post he’s a “mutant” in how little he slerps, I may be a mutant in some ways, but not that way…)

* I don’t sacrifice time with my family for business (although, to be fair, it’s just me and my dog, but one reason I don’t travel to seminars or events unless I’m speaking/teaching is I hate leaving my dog in a kennel)

* I don’t do memes quoting myself (I already say more than I know each day as it is…)

* I don’t believe in his “jab, jab, jab, right hook” philosophy (I’m more Rocky Balboa than Apollo Creed — going for power, brutality, heart, taking a lot of punches till I see an opening, and consistency over dancing and jabs… i.e. I sell in every email)

* And the list goes on…

Here’s the point:

It's different strokes for different blokes.
