Subject: Peek-a-boo! I freaking found you!
Hey, dude.
Welcome from Latvia.
I found your podcast few days ago and I am listening to it from
beginning in free time. Having my own notes n sh*t.
You have some crazy good stuff ..and for free. You gave me some great
tips on getting my act together in the grand scheme I call life. I
started thinking about who do I need and don't(because of how they
act) and who does not need me and would be better without my shit.
After that, I went to your email players page to see how much it
costs. As you said - get on your feet and then buy, don't go into debt
to buy your products. So I will get my act together and I'll be back.
I have a tip for you also. Maybe you already know it and you have your
own approach(as - you've found that to do your type of marketing, the
one you already use works better).
On your email players checkout there is a line:
There are no refunds on Email Players subscriptions, but you can
easily cancel any time by contacting me at ben@bensettle.com or by
calling (815) 425-4483
If you a/b test that - changing ''but'' with ''and'' would likely
yield better conversion rate(though, I bet the people who decide not
to buy are only ones like me - who can't afford it yet). It's one of
those ''NLP things'' where people wait for some miracle strategy that
will make their life tenfolds better and give them better orgasms or
w/e, but get this little tweak.
Looks like this:
There are no refunds on Email Players subscriptions, and you can
easily cancel any time by contacting me at ben@bensettle.com or by
calling (815) 425-4483
Now both parts are benefits.
k, I will listen further and start producing.

First of all, thank you for ye olde props.
And, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content.
As for your testing idea:
Nah.
And here a few reasons why:
1. I don’t get enough traffic to that site (In fact, I purposely *limit* the amount of traffic to that sales letter on purpose, which has dramatically increased my opt ins and sales since doing so a couple months ago — for reasons I explain in the upcoming April “Email Players” issue oh so coincidentally…) to make a test that small worth it.
It would take probably years to see any kind of result.
And, chances are it wouldn’t even be statistically relevant.
Why?
Because I’ve found over the years (in multiple niches), with the email methodology I use it’s hard to get a control as it is. The emails are always doing the heavy lifting. The sales page is more or less a formality for the majority of people who buy.
That's why, when I do test stuff, it’s BIG changes.
The bigger the spread of ideas and changes the better.
And, even then, it often shows no big winner either way.
(Including when testing video vs text, etc).
This is why I focus my tests on cold traffic not warm traffic coming from email.
2. Re: NLP
lulz.
3. But, here’s the real kicker:
Anyone who *wouldn’t* buy because I used the word “but” instead of “and” is simply not someone I want in my life as a customer. Most likely, that would be a big pain in the azz who bought for all the wrong reasons and would be better served chasing down the latest goo-roo product of the month launch than anything I have to sell.
So, there you be.
I’ll take the props.
But the advice?
I’ll shalt pass.
(Although I do appreciate him taking the time).
