The anti-consultant breaks his oath

Published: Thu, 01/07/16

Last year I did something I swore I’d never do:

I did some consulting.

Now, consulting, coaching, freelancing, etc ain’t my bag.

I just don’t enjoy it all that much, and prefer working on my own products — especially since launching the store at my podcast, ramping up traffic to my main site using paid methods, writing novels, moving back to the ocean, gearing up to launch a golf business, etc.

My time is valuable.

I prefer spending it on myself and keeping all the fruits of my labor instead of a pittance of it.

But, at the same time, there’s a certain ego boost to consulting, too.

Here’s what I mean:

One of my consulting clients does coaching & trainings in the entertainment industry.

I worked with him for approximately 1 month.

(Last month.)

I showed him some ways to improve his emails, offers, positioning, strategy, and so on and so forth. He is already an “Email Players” subscriber, so it’s not like his stuff sucked or that he wasn’t already successful. But, he knew he was leaving money on ye olde table and decided to hire elBenbo for a little help.

The result?

He sold exactly $100,887 of his training in December *alone*, which is (and I quote him):

“a month where we
usually get nothing
or very little.”

In other words, he’ll make a ton more in January (he already is) due to my consulting.

And, much, much more the rest of the year and in the years to come.

(We talked about how he will have so much business he’ll be forced to raise his prices again — a good problem to have.)

Sheesh.

$100k bones.

In one month.

And, (I'll repeat) in a month where he usually gets 0 sales.

Plus, all the work we did for that month will be systematized (i.e. the emails auto-respondered, the offers re-used, etc) so he won’t have to do nearly any of the same work in the future and will reap the rewards of what I showed him for years and years and years to come while doing very little extra work.

Anyway, why am I bringing this up?

To brag?

Well, yes, a little self propping never hurt.

(TWSS).

But also, because I’ve decided to take another client on for February.

(I’m keeping January for myself.)

However, it’ll be expensive.

And, I reckon it’ll be the last one I do for a while.

(If at all — it’ll depend on demand and my time & interest).

More:

While I certainly can’t guarantee you’ll have the same off-the-wall results my client above did, if you’re interested in partaking of the fruit of the tree of elBenbo’s knowledge, below is what it entails.

To even be considered, you have to have 4 things:

1. Be an “Email Players” subscriber

Subscribers have been indoctrinated with my ways (or are in the process of it), and that will save us both a lot of time (and, for me, frustration) trying to get you up to snuff on my wicked ways. If you really want in on this, you'll have to join "Email Players", read the "Email Players Playbook" and get at least somewhat familiar with my wily ways.

Next…

2. Obedience

Want to “tweak” what I tell you to do and go your own way?

Afraid to leave your comfort zone?

Worried about what people think?

Think you can say, “yeah, yeah, Ben, I know, but I want to do it *this* way instead…”

Get ye behind me, Mush Cookie!

I can find you a half dozen other coaches who will charge you bargain basement prices to coach you and put up with your insubordination all day long.

Me?

I won’t put up with even a minute of it.

(Ask my ex-copywriting apprentice)

3. Time

I expect implementation.

Not excuses.

I won’t ask you to work crazy hours. But, you will need to have a good 2 hours per day (working time, not “busy” time) to implement what I command. If you don’t have 2 hours per day (your FIRST two hours of the day, when you’re at your best), you’re out.

After all, even elBenbo can’t turn water into wine.

Nor can I make money without time, either.

4. Money

This is not going to be cheap.

Or, even “affordable.”

The cost is $20k for the month paid by check or wire transfer.

(No “slapping” it on credit).

This narrows it down to probably 17 people reading this. And, if you do everything I say, I reckon (no guarantees) you probably won’t need more than a month of help anyway. My goal is to get you out of my hair, frankly. (While making you a ton of extra sales for the rest of your life, of course, my reputation is on the line...)

All that said, here’s what I’m going to commit to:

First, you get three 1-hour long calls with me each week.

That’s a lot of time.

And, fact is, you probably will only need 30 minutes.

Ask Dan Meredith (one of the few people I ever coached). He paid me for hour long calls ONCE per month. I don’t think any of them lasted more than 20-minutes, yet he says I made him almost $200k in the past year.

How is that possible?

Because the “what” to do is relatively simple.

Most of it is a matter of you doing what you’re told, my little droogie.

I know you aren’t hearing this from the stage at all the Internet marketing summits, seminars, and masterminds you attend — but making sales is relatively simple. It’s DOING the work that separates the dogs from the puppies.

More:

I’ll also review your ads and emails line by line.

I’ll tell you how to improve them, help you come up with ideas and themes for ads and emails, help you get clients (if’n that’s your thing, although I cannot guarantee you anything — a lot of it depends on you), help you with your funnels and offers, and you are eligible for ONE full day with me, in person, in not-always-sunny Bandon, OR where we can work on your stuff the entire day (probably at the local pub or coffe shop, or both, whatever you prefer), if’n you want. You’ll have to pay your own airfare and hotel, but you’ll basically have access to me for 30-days with questions, advice, tips, and ideas for your business, marketing, selling, copywriting, emails, and campaigns.

And, before you even ask:

I won’t hand you a pile of books to read or ads to write out by hand, etc.

That’s why only “Email Players” subscribers are eligible.

I don’t want to have to teach you the basics. You should already know the basics. You should already have a working offer/funnel that already makes you 6-figure per year. And, you should be ready to add another “0” to your profits. elBenbo can’t create sales for you, but he *can* multiply your current sales. If you don’t have an offer and back end in place, or if you can’t make your $20k back relatively easily (even without my help) then don’t bother. Don't even think about it if $20k is going to put you in financial jeopardy.

All right.

One more thing:

I make NO guarantees or promises of success or results.

If you need a safety net… or if you don’t think I can help you… simply skip out on this.

I get it.

No hard feelings.

Plenty of conventional coaches/consultants out there to pick from who will promise you the moon and hand you a pile of fluff, theory, or stuff you can learn in a $10 book on Amazon (or free on Google).

You’d be better off with one of them.

On the other hand:

If you’re ready to go, reply to this email ASAP.

The first person to have a check in my hands (I recommend FedEx overnight) is in for February.

Word up.
