The TSA probe marketing funnel

Published: Sun, 06/10/18

If you want to see an efficient, simple, and effective marketing funnel in action, simply book a flight, drive to the airport, and then observe the process.

For example:

There is a very specific sequence you have to go through.

You go to the ticket counter (and check your bags if you have bags) then to the TSA where you get bombarded with radiation and (if you’re lucky) probed around your balls or bewbs. Then you hope all your stuff made it through the TSA belt and put your shoes back on, etc. Then you go to your gate. Then you wait for your group to be called to board. Then you board.

Again, very specific.

Very simple.

You always know where you are in the sequence, what you’re supposed to do, and where you’re supposed to go next.

Notice something else:

You cannot jump the sequence.

You can’t go through TSA before getting your ticket. You cannot board the plane without going through TSA. You cannot go to your gate before getting your ticket and getting probed. You cannot board the plane before going to your gate. And so on, and so on.

More:

There are varying degrees of complexity.

Checking in (for example) is much easier and less complex than, say, the security check, where you have to take off your belt and your shoes. Same with going to your gate and boarding and so on.

And you want to know what?

This is a great model for an effective, simple, and profitable marketing funnel.
