Why only 3% of people make it in business

Back in my Twitter days, I remember reading something heavyweight boxer, author, and speaker Ed Latimore said about how to find your “passion.”

What was his advice?

Simply this:

1) Pursue whatever interests you

2) Hone one or two of those interests to a high level (80th percentile min)

3) Find a way to serve the world with this interest

Now, I see differences between a passion and a Mission.

(i.e. Preaching could be a passion, but building a world-wide church is a Mission.)

But, the advice is spot on for both.

Except, for a Mission, I would just switch out #2 with learn how to sell and hone to high level — as you don’t necessarily have to be the most knowledgable or “best” at your interest, since you can simply find others who are to help you achieve it.

More:

I once toyed around with only selling my Villains book on the front end.

And, not letting anyone buy anything else I have without owning the book first.

Why?

Because getting your inner-game right is vital if you want to put anything I teach in context and not self-sabotage yourself. It’s the foundation of the building that makes everything work. Without a good foundation, anything you build on it will eventually topple over — regardless of how great the architecture looks.

One stiff wind and it’s gone.

It's why most people never stick with anything, don't focus, and procrastinate themselves broke.

Example:

Once in a while, someone will say, "Mr. elBenbo, I have 8 issues of your newsletter and haven't read any of them yet but am short on money suddenly because xyz situation!" To which I think, "Gee, Chuckles, maybe you should stop being a pansy, read them, and implement the information and get out of your cash crunch..."

But I don't bother telling them that.

Why?

Because they've already quit (and lost) the game before it's even begun.

And there's literally nothing I can do to help them until they sac up and learn how to think and behave like a responsible business person and not a marketing prole.

It’s also why I guesstimate only about 3% of people make it long term in business.

Anyway, if you want this foundation I lay in my first Villains Book, it’s on Amazon.

And, unlike most of my books… it’s affordable for everyone.
