The single most potent productivity “hack” ever invented?

Published: Mon, 04/15/19

This week I’m going to be talking about something that’s been a long time coming — that your long-suffering host and daily narrator has been almost criminally negligent in not talking about over the years.

Information I’ve been using all this time.

But, that I’ve also been greedily & selfishly hoarding all for myself — that, I believe, can make a huge difference in any business’s box office gross.

I was even going to create another Villains book out of it.

But, instead, am going to give some of the tips I was going to put in that book free to my list this week.

Anyway, what secksy subject do I babble-eth about?

Productivity!

And time management!

And, getting a lot more done in a shorter period of time — while possibly “working” less than you normally would, spending less time doing said work than you normally would, or at least having less stress and more enjoyment than you normally would doing your work.

Anyway, the first lesson is probably the most important.

And that lesson is simply realizing…

“Work expands to fill the time allotted.”

I’ve had this concept beaten into my head for years by reading the work of super productive guys like Dan Kennedy and a few others who get massive amounts of work done, but didn’t really pay much attention to it until back in 2011 when I was in a situation where I had to do so much writing I slept, on average, maybe 2 or 3 hours (if that) per night for almost two months.

And this concept saved the proverbial day.

What this means is this:

If you give yourself 24 hours to do a task, chances are it will take you exactly that long to do it. That’s why so many sales come in, by the way, right against a hard deadline. Or why so many kids put off their homework until the last minute. Or why, if you’re a client, your copywriters or other people you hire seem like they are taking so long. It’s not that they are taking so long, it’s that their brains have it fixed they have x amount of time to do it and their work “magically” fits that time period almost to the second.

There is another, deeper, psychological reason for this.

(I shalt be talking about soon.)

But, the main reason is work expands to fill the time allotted.

So how do you use this on a practical level?

It is simple — give yourself less time to do tasks.

For example:

Not long ago, an “Email Players” subscriber asked me how he could write his emails faster. It was taking him some 3 hours to do an email. So, amongst other bits of advice, I said something along the lines of:

“Give yourself 29 minutes — exactly — to do each email.”

And then, when that becomes comfortable, to give himself 19 minutes.

And so on.

The result?

He said it made an immediate difference in his writing speed.

So that’s your first productivity lesson.

There are more to come this week.

In the meantime:

I am also taking this entire week to promote a special offer related to productivity that I tested selling to “Email Players” subscribers in March. The test was a smashing success, despite only US customers being able to take advantage of it. So if you are not in the US, the following won’t do you much good as far as getting some goodies I am giving away.

But, here is the low down:

I am selling (as an affiliate) a line of nootropics.

But, not just any old nootropics.

Nootropics I have been using to help me accomplish more in the last 12-months than I have probably in the entire prior 18-years I’ve been in business. These nootropics have been nothing short of business-changing for Yours Unruly. And, after a full year, I have yet to experience a single negative “side effect” (like some of the peabodies selling in health niches told me would happen without so much as looking at the facts — they simply told me all nootropics are the devil, and they may be right for all I know…) But if anything, I believe they are having a “cumulative” effect, and getting more effective over time.

Anyway, anyone who’s been watching me has no-doubt noticed the increased output.

All the new books, launches, offers, etc since a year ago.

Plus, a few I haven’t even revealed yet and am going to be launching soon.

This is mostly because of two things:

1. The productivity tips I’m going to be giving freely away all week

2. Combining that with these nootropics

And so... after a year of taking them, I am comfortable selling them, and they are something I personally take nearly every day of the week.

And, as I hinted:

I’m giving people a valuable bonus if you buy from my affiliate link below and forward your receipt to me by the deadline - Friday, April 19th, at midnight (EST).

P.S. Again, if you live outside the US, I don’t think you can take advantage of this offer right now.
