A policeman who bought my second Villains book (Super Villains of Persuasion) files his report:

BEN!

Holy crap man! I’m sitting here reading your new book. I’m on some slow time at work so I’ll be quick.

Your chapter on willpower is the most powerful discussion on the subject I have ever read.

I still chase people (law enforcement, 54 years old) that younger people don’t, still have a minimum work out daily that keeps me in form for the work, and this is due to willpower. The injuries, complacency, etc. that come with enough time in the job are overcome with willpower.

People DO regard you differently to the degree you exercise this superpower. (“Why are you still going after it like that?” “Dude, chill. You can’t do it like a young guy anymore.”) F*%k that! Willpower rules.

And I admit to being in need of more of it in other areas of my life. I also fell, for a while, into the “you don’t need willpower, you need___________” blahblahblah systems/purpose/mission blahblah. No more. Ever.

Thanks for the wake-up!

He’s absolutely correct:

Willpower is a muscle just as important as any other muscle in your body, and to never use it is rather like not getting out of bed and just letting your legs atrophy — because it has the same effect on your mind.

One of the best pieces I ever done heard on this is from FJ Shark.

(Author of the infamous book “How To Be The Jerk Women Love”)

He said:

“Willpower is everything. It can create, destroy, dissolve, unite, conquer, anything. Control over money, control over others, all of that is secondary. The triumph of the will is the greatest accomplishment of humanity, the pinnacle of sentient achievement.”

Something else to think about:

When you have strong Willpower you are automatically more persuasive & influential.

People just know — by the way you look, the way you speak, the way you move, even the way you write — you are mentally and emotionally stronger (even if not necessarily physically). And people are attracted to mental and emotional toughness as much as they are physical toughness. All the great leaders of men have always had exceptionally stronger Willpower than their enemies, subordinates, henchmen, soldiers (who, incidentally, have often been physically stronger than those who commanded them, further proving the superiority of Willpower over any other muscle), and anyone else they want to influence and persuade.

So ask yourself:

Is your Willpower strong... or is it flaccid?

If it’s the latter, then heed ye these words:

I spend an entire chapter just on Willpower in "Super Villains of Persuasion" — including how to build, strengthen, and explode your own Willpower in as little as 30-days, so you can use it to bend others to your Will, instead of always bending your Will to everyone else.
