But, it did work.
And, not only did it work… but the client used it as his space advertising all over the Internet — including on big news sites (that cost a fortune to advertise on). He simply used the headline verbatim (tweaking maybe a word or two at most) along with an image and a call to action.
Anyway, that ad ran for at least a couple years, from what I remember.
And, it made the client a lot of money.
(And they were already a huge business).
