What I taught the “Stan Lee of Marketing” about profiting from trolls
Published: Sat, 02/09/19
And I said there are two kinds of trolls:
1. Upstairs trolls
2. Downstairs trolls
The downstairs troll is (literally or figuratively, or both…) the proverbial seething 40-year old virgin still living in his mom's basement. He’s self-loathing and livid at how pathetic his life is, and, thus, trolls everybody he’s envious of through Twitter or Facebook or YouTube or Amazon or iTunes or email or whatever his media of choice is.
That’s all he does, is sit around and hate on people.
And, the thought of pouring all that energy into something worthwhile never dawns on him.
Downstairs trolls are amusingly wretched like that. And since misery loves company, they’re trying to spread the misery to make everyone else feel as horribly about themselves as they do.
That is the quintessential downstairs troll:
These are the people who reply to your emails with personal attacks and nonsensical assumptions. They’re the ones trying to bait you in to a shyt-talking contest on social media. And these particular trolls will eagerly consume all the time, emotions, and attention you give them.
Your attention is their “food.”
And, they will eat it until they burst if you feed them.
That’s simply the animal a downstairs troll is.
But what about the Upstairs Troll?
What's his story?
When you are an Upstairs Troll and you are trolled by a downstairs troll… you simply troll the downstairs troll back. But, not in a malicious or nasty or slanderous way. You do it in a way that makes your business sales. As an upstairs troll, you don’t hate or try to battle the downstairs trolls or try to play his game. You look at their trolling and say, “I have an opportunity here, and if I troll this person back properly, I’m going to profit from this, while enhancing my business’s reputation and brand.”
This is important.
The upstairs troll doesn’t do anything to put his reputation at risk.
He is always safe within my “Copy Troll” system, because he doesn’t get emotional or needy, or maliciously attack back.
Instead, he is grateful for his trolls.
They are, after all, money in the bank.
Thus, the upstairs troll sees an opportunity, takes advantage of it, then moves on with his life. He also knows that while the downstairs troll can’t be reasoned with, bargained with, or appeased… it can be profited from. And not only can the miserable downstairs trolls be profited from, they *should* be profited from. The Upstairs Troll owes it to these poor downstairs troll schlubs to make sales from their slanders, attacks, and character-assassination attempts.

P.S. "Copy Troll" also comes with a bonus this weekend called:
"The Stefania Files: Volume One"
These are 10 private videos I recorded for my woman Stefania's (and sometimes her clients') marketing education.
They add up to 85+ minutes of pure content.
And they are, in their own way, some of the most valuable trainings I've ever done.
This is my woman I am teaching, after all.
And not strangers on a podcast or webinar or whatever.
Thus, I delivered nothing but the raw, “uncut” truth about a multitude of topics she asked me about — ranging from copywriting and list-building… to email and growing an audience… to social media, business plans, headlines, storytelling, and even a brief bit on passive funnels.
They are yours, free, if you buy Copy Troll before tomorrow's deadline:
