* Going around town to his local businesses
* Advertising in forums and facebook group job boards
* Spending a lot of money on travel and lodging to hang out at marketing seminars and hovering around the bars
* Offering to do free critiques for people
* And the list went on
None of these things were really working for him, though. And, when they did, he got paid peanuts, basically, and was treated like an idiot whose ideas were never taken all that seriously.

But, it’s much easier -- and you’ll get paid much more, with a lot less effort, hassle and shenanigans -- to sell people what they are already buying vs something you have to convince them they need to buy.
