How I want to die
Published: Wed, 11/21/18
Monday’s email was about the rise of what I call the Alt-copywriter — client-less, less stress, lower work hours, etc. Clients optional. The late, great Gene Schwartz was my role model for building that kind of biz.
Tuesday’s email:
Was about avoiding dying at the desk.
Specifically, by not working yourself to the grave.
To which “Email Players” subscriber and A-list copywriter Kim Krause Scwhalm replied and told me Gene Schwartz literally *did* die at the desk while working on a promo for Phillip's Publishing. (She worked there at the time.)
Got to hand it to the guy, he *literally* died doing what he loved.
Me?
I hope to avoid that fate.
I’d much rather die from being mauled by a Bigfoot or something exciting I can brag about in the afterlife when we're all swapping death stories. (“Your guys' stories are all cute, but I was walking my dog in the woods and was killed by a Bigfoot I was fighting with my bare hands…”)
Anyway, thus my program for copywriters who want out of client work:
“The 10-Minute Workday”
It’s for copywriters who want to be their own clients.
i.e. they want to work just minutes per day by building their own offers, lists, back-ends, etc and use their copywriting skills to make themselves a bundle instead of a client (or do both — sell their own stuff, and do freelancing). But, are confused about how to get started, not sure what to do, and don’t know where to turn.
