The 30th law of power
Published: Wed, 08/15/18
There are many great laws inside.
One of my favorites is the 30th law:
“Make your
accomplishments
seem effortless”
What that means is, you have to make everything you do seem easy, and, yes, effortless, as if you didn’t even have to think about it — you just do it, like driving a car. Give the appearance that you could actually do a lot more than you just did if you wanted to. And, most importantly, avoiding grandstanding about how “hard” you work and toil and slave away after everything.
More:
(To quote it)
“Never expose the sweat and labor behind your poise.
Some think such exposure will demonstrate their diligence and honesty,
but it actually just makes them look weaker as if they weren't really up to the job.”
I believe this to be true as well.
But, the question is, how do you do this?
How do you make everything truly seem effortless?
Well, I believe if you have to conceal how hard you work, you’re doing it wrong. It shouldn’t just look like you’re doing things effortlessly — it really has to *be* effortless. Real game is no game (i.e. you have whatever it is you do so ingrained in your mind, it’s not tactical anymore — you just *do*.)
The point?
If you want to really and actually live the 30th law (from a business and lifestyle point of view) you have to make it a part of you — as much an extension of your life as your appendages are to your body.
