How to train your drama queen to behave

Comes a question about my “Why I freeze people out” email:

“But what if it's your wife that gives you the most drama?”

My opinion:

If a woman gives you drama it means you aren’t leading her, and should ask yourself if you don’t have something better to do than put up with it.

Here’s what I mean:

One thing the late, great comedian Patrice O’Neal used to say is women need emotions to function. If you simply stop giving a drama queen your emotions, she has no choice but too feed on her own emotions (and drama). Or, try to feed off someone else.

Either way, best thing to do is simply leave the room.

Or the house.

Or, if she’s really laying it on thick and needs and extra dose of The Medicine, leave town for a few days.

Coldly (not angrily) tell her:

“I don’t do drama”

And then leave.

Go find something better to work on — like your Mission.

A man on a mission doesn’t care about a girl giving him drama.

Why?

Because he simply takes away all his attention, emotions, and time, and devotes it all to his Mission, instead of her. If she wants him to stick around, she’ll knock off the drama. If she’s got one foot out the door already, then he’ll let her go and simply find someone better who doesn’t give him drama.

Cold?

Mean?

Cruel?

I call it drama-control.

A man who chases a girl’s emotions all day, jumps every time she has a mood swing, or supplicates to her all the time to get her to calm down or appease her or whatever, will get nothing but more drama and has nobody to blame but himself.

A man who puts his Mission first, gets very little drama.

And, if he does, it’s short lived.

This is the kind of mentality I teach in my Villains book.

It’s why it’s gotten rave reviews not just from men, but also many women (who have given it to their boyfriends and husbands).

P.S. I don't really have any advice for women who have a drama queen for a man, other than to gift them the Villains book, and somehow make them think it is their idea to read it.
